Building Insulation

Building insulation is actually a thermal insulation process used while construction of retrofit buildings and other commercial structures. The material used for building insulation is for reducing the temperature transfer that occurs through conduction, radiation and convention.

Insulation materials can be categorized in various components like it's composition, it's form; structural or non structural and by it's functions like conductive, convection or radiation. Non structural insulation material includes bats, blankets, cotton fills, polyurethane spray foam and vacant panels. While structural forms includes insulated concrete materials, structured non-thermal panels, straw bales and other materials like fiberglass sheets. The another method to achieve best building insulation is through using reflective radiant barrier material that avoids heat transfer and reflects most of the thermal heat back to the atmosphere.

Building insulation material is made from the two different materials of polyethylene bubbled film and pure aluminum thin sheet. Both of these materials have their special characteristics for acting as thermal insulation. Air bubble of the polyethylene film reacts slowly against the temperature change due to the closed air in all bubbles and it also passes the temperature slowly to the other side compare to the other material. Thus it prevents most of the temperate and radiant heat passes through it. Particularly double bubble polyethylene film is better than the single bubble polyethylene film. The selection of these films is done on the base of requirement and temperature conditions. On the other side aluminum foil works as a reflective material that reflects most of the radiant sun rays direct back to the atmosphere and thus prevent it entering inside. Together polyethylene bubble film and aluminum foil creates a sandwiched structure that avoids almost 97% or radiant heat entering inside.
